At the BBC's public meeting held in Southampton last month, Sir Michael Lyons, Chairman of the BBC Trust, in response to a question raised by Ken Pett (co-founder of the Dorset Broadcasting Action Group) on the problems with broadcasting in Dorset, expressed his sympathy with Dorset, and promised to discuss the issues with the Director General. We now await the Director General's response which is promised shortly. In the meantime, further meetings have been held with the BBC including one which included Jane McCloskey - the new Head of BBC South West. Jane expressed her sympathy with Dorset and is looking into how DorBAG's requirements might be met. |
