BBC Launches New Radio Programme for Dorchester & Weymouth areas:    25^th July sees the launch of a new weekly Radio Solent News programme (the “Big Dorset Brunch”) to be broadcast on Saturday mornings (103.8MHz).  

It will provide a new platform for events, community groups and topical discussions focused on the Dorchester & Weymouth area.   

New satellite van for BBC Radio Solent reporter in Dorchester:   A new satellite reporting radio vehicle is now in operation in Dorset used by Harry Crawford – Dorchester based BBC Radio Solent reporter.   This means that Harry can communicate live from wherever he is in the van.   Previously he has to go back to the studio in Dorchester to send in his report/interview etc., or to particpate in a live session.

We understand the BBC is now looking at the possibility of a similar vehicle for video.
