SWEDBAG Executive Committee to meet new Head of BBC South
Thu 16 Aug 2007

The SWEDBAG Executive Committee will be meeting on 21st September to discuss with the BBC and Digital UK progress on Dorset's requirements.   We are  particularly concerned at the delays in progress while the new BBC Trust is examining all current and planned activities as part of cut backs due to the reduced licence fee agreement with the Government.   SWEDBAG will be lobbying hard to ensure Dorset is properly served with the introduction of a local Radio Dorset station and dedicated local news/events coverage on terrestrial television (digital).

The new Head of BBC South, Mike Hapgood, will be attending along with Bill Taylor, South West Manager of Digital UK and one of his technical experts, Mark Evans.   A summary of the outcome will be posted after the meeting.
