Dorset FM Radio reception and local programmes - Information from Ofcom (Jan 2006):

“ Dorset  is at the edge of the service area of three main national FM transmitters that broadcast BBC programmes and Classic FM. This means that signal levels may not give good results everywhere when using indoor portable aerials, although signal levels are sufficient when using external roof-mounted aerials.

The main FM transmitters serving Dorset are at North Hessary Tor (Dartmoor), Rowridge (IoW) and Wenvoe ( Cardiff). The BBC has also provided a number of smaller booster transmitters serving specific locations such as Bridport, Weymouth and Lyme Regis. Detailed locations and frequencies are available at
